Research Help

Until we’re able to resume Genealogy-in-the-Library in person, we’d like to offer one-to-one genealogy research assistance via Zoomon the second Friday of the month between 1 and 4 p.m. . To receive the most benefit during the limited time, come prepared with a specific research question and any related information.

Have you hit a wall in your research, or have a general genealogy question? For free, individual assistance until in-person meetings resume, we invite you to tell us those issues that are holding up your family research. Reach us at halifaxgensociety@gmail.com, where a volunteer will help you break through.

Genealogy in the Library

When in-person meetings resume, experienced HGS researchers, in coordination with theOrmond Beach Library, will be available once a month on the second Friday in Room 3 at the library from 1:00-4:00 p.m. to offer personal genealogical research assistance.

The purpose of this assistance is to introduce people to genealogical research methods by offering a one-on-one session with an experienced genealogist. To receive the most benefit during the limited time, come prepared with a specific research question and any related information and documents. While not necessary, bringing your own laptop is helpful.
